About Us

MarDee’s Bakery is more than just a business—it’s the fulfillment of a dream my sister, DeeDee, and I shared for years. We always talked about opening a bakery, a place where we could spread joy through sugar and creativity.

Unfortunately, life had other plans, and DeeDee passed away far too soon from breast cancer.

 

DeeDee was the one who taught me everything I know about decorating sugar cookies—her specialty and passion. For years, I would make her sugar cookies for holidays as a way to honor her. Over time, I added more varieties until I was baking thousands of cookies every holiday season, gifting them to friends and family — and even strangers! Now, ten years later, I’m finally making that dream a reality. MarDee’s Bakery is named in honor of my sister, a blend of both of our names, and every cookie I create carries a piece of her love and artistry.

 

At MarDee’s Bakery, you’ll find beautifully decorated sugar cookies that taste as good as they look. You’ll also find the best baklava you’ve ever eaten, made in the Lebanese tradition with an orange flower syrup. A recipe passed down from my Lebanese mother. My signature pecan bars, my most requested cookie each year, are a menu staple, along with a variety of giant, delicious cookies in both classic and creative flavors. Whether you’re treating yourself or celebrating a special occasion, my goal is to share happiness—one cookie at a time.
